I tested the Wi-Fi connection process and found it simple to navigate through the initial setup screens, with help from the instructions on the driver disc. Still, I'm still not ready to see Ethernet printing extinguished entirely until wireless connectivity becomes more ubiquitous, and the gap will likely be a deal breaker for IT professionals shopping for a networked printer to connect an office. Unfortunately, HP omits an Ethernet port in an effort to push cloud printing features that can work only on a Wi-Fi network, which you should probably be using to reduce clutter anyway. Using AirPrint, you can print out a photo from your iPhoto library by simply choosing the connected printer and hitting Print. If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Solution Accepted" and "Kudos" Buttons. In addition to using a direct USB connection (like most vendors, HP does not include a USB cable with the printer), you can set up the Photosmart 7520 on your network via Wi-Fi, which also lets Apple users make an easy connection through AirPrint on a compatible iOS device. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options" Enter Product number or select to auto detect If the issue persists, please contact our Phone Support for Service Options. You can also update the Firmware from Here Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move. The printer might go through a warm-up period. (8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. (7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer. NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet. (6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. (4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. (3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. (2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue. (1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on. I understand that that your Printer keeps saying there is paper in the ADF eventhough it's empty. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips. The solution to use the photosmart pc based software for scanning will not suffice Please assist, this device is relatively new and a significant investment has been made in buying ink for it I need a solution that addresses the sensor failure or a procedure to remove the ADF and replace with an alternate ADF (I have a second 7520 with a working ADF but with a very worn printer mech). All rollers are cleaned as per other advise, the rest procedure was followed and the power up/down procedure was followed with no positive resolution. The small motor that drives the gearchain to pull the paper through the ADF only runs for a second befoee the error message occurs. The sensor moves but does not register the paper being loaded. The swtich sensor inside the ADF does not make the noise it used to when paper was inserted. The problem occured while using the flatbed scanner and constantly opening and closing the scanner lid. This results in the printer being unable to scan from the flatbed glass or the ADF. Photosmart 7520 printer believes that paper is in the automatic document feeder and is not inserted correctly.
